Tahoe's cold winters and freeze risk change how plunges and their chillers and plumbing behave — freeze protection, winterization of vacation-rental units, and seasonal chemistry swings all matter here in a way they don't in milder markets. Cold plunges also run at 38–55°F with concentrated bather load and chiller equipment that general pool techs aren't certified to touch (refrigerant work is EPA-regulated).
