Before any repair work starts, you get a written estimate with parts, labor, and timing. You approve the scope, then we order parts.
We schedule the work, complete it, document it with chemistry logs, chiller readings, or before/after photos, then send you a digital report after we leave.
When your cold plunge or sauna breaks in Orange County, the options are bad: a pool tech who's never balanced cold-water chemistry, an electrician who won't touch a sauna heater, or YouTube. The Cold Standard exists to fix that. We're a dedicated service company built specifically for cold plunges and saunas — every truck, every tech, every visit. Whether you own a $4,000 entry-level tub, a home infrared sauna, or a $30,000 commercial recovery room, you get the same documented, certified service.

Cold plunges and saunas, homes and commercial facilities — here's the kind of work we handle across the county on any given week.
Failed circulation pumps, short-cycling chillers, noisy motors, and transformer swaps on residential cold plunges. Diagnosed on the first visit, quoted in writing, then fixed once parts are in.
Diagnostic + repairUnits failing to hold target temp, leaking refrigerant joints, or fouled heat exchangers — common when coastal heat waves push chillers hard. We stage the rebuild plan with the owner before any work begins.
Chiller serviceRecurring service for gyms, recovery studios, med spas, and hotels running one or multiple units. Compliance-grade documentation and chemistry logs filed every visit.
Commercial plansNew plunge arrivals — positioning, first-fill chemistry, chiller commissioning, and an owner walkthrough on weekly self-care, then a maintenance plan that takes over from there.
One-time setupWood-safe hygiene deep cleans, sweat-stain treatment, paraffin bench treatment, and heater stone service for infrared and traditional saunas — homes and high-traffic commercial rooms alike.
Sauna serviceDead infrared emitter panels, failed heater elements, control boards, keypads, and lighting. We verify every panel is firing on every visit — a $0 inspection catch instead of an out-of-warranty repair later.

Real answers to the questions Orange County cold plunge and sauna owners ask most.
The Cold Standard is Orange County's dedicated cold plunge service company. We're not a pool company that also touches plunges, and we're not an HVAC tech guessing at water chemistry — cold plunges and saunas are the only things we work on. We serve all of Orange County including Irvine, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Anaheim, Costa Mesa, Laguna Beach, Mission Viejo, San Clemente, Yorba Linda, Fullerton, Tustin, and Dana Point.
Residential plans start at $169 every 4 weeks for our Essential plan (one full service visit per cycle). Premium is $299 every 4 weeks (biweekly visits plus quarterly deep clean). Weekly is $599 every 4 weeks for 52 visits per year ($150/visit effective) — the highest-density residential tier. Pay-as-you-go quarterly deep clean is $375 per visit if you handle weekly chemistry yourself, and a one-time deep clean is $399 flat for a single no-commitment service. Commercial plans (gyms, studios, hotels, spas) range from $279 every 4 weeks (Commercial Light) up to $999 every 4 weeks (Commercial Plus, twice-weekly visits). All recurring plans are month-to-month — cancel anytime.
Standard repair calls are scheduled within 48 hours of contact. Premium plan members get priority 24-hour scheduling. Commercial accounts get same-day emergency response. Our service call is $170 flat — covers the trip out and a full diagnostic with a written estimate before any repair work begins. Repair labor is $185/hr with member discounts of 15–30%.
Every major brand on the Orange County market: Plunge, BlueCube, Renu Therapy, Cold Stoic, Ice Barrel, Edge Theory Labs, Morozko Forge, Polar Monkeys, Nordic Wave, Kodiak, Inergize, Tru Grit, and custom-built units. If a brand isn't listed, we still service it — we work on the entire category, not specific OEMs.
Yes. We service saunas across all of Orange County — infrared, traditional electric (heater + stones), wood-fired, and steam rooms — for homes, gyms, and recovery studios. We handle wood-safe deep cleaning, heater and emitter service, electrical and controls repair, and recurring hygiene maintenance. All brands, including Sun Home, Clearlight, Sunlighten, Harvia, Finnleo, and custom-built rooms.
Our Sauna Tune-Up & Inspection is $149 flat — a wood-safe interior clean, heater/emitter inspection, electrical and controls check, and a digital report with photos. The Sauna Deep Clean & Wood Care is $249 flat — everything in the tune-up plus a full hygiene deep clean, sweat-stain treatment, paraffin bench treatment, and heater stone service. Sauna repair is a $170 service call (trip + first hour), then $185/hr. Commercial rooms and recurring hygiene plans are quoted per facility.
All of them — infrared, traditional, hybrid, and steam. That includes Sun Home, Clearlight, Sunlighten, Harvia, Finnleo, and custom-built rooms. We use only manufacturer-approved, wood-safe cleaners (never bleach, ammonia, or abrasives that damage cedar and hemlock or void your warranty), and we document every visit with photos.
Orange County's mild year-round temperature is great for plunge usage but creates a sustained biofilm window — plunges here see more daily use than colder markets and rarely freeze, so bacteria never gets a winter reset. Cloudy water in Orange County is almost always one of three things: imbalanced chemistry (pH out of the 7.2–7.6 range, low sanitizer), a clogged filter, or biofilm forming on the plumbing and surfaces. We diagnose the root cause on the first visit and rescue most water without a full drain.
Yes — commercial accounts are a core part of our book. We service gyms, recovery studios, boutique fitness facilities, chiropractor offices, med spas, hotels, and corporate wellness rooms across Orange County. Commercial plans include compliance-grade documentation (water test logs, chiller inspection records, photo before/after), annual staff training, and 30% off repair work. Facilities that run both plunges and saunas can bundle both under one vendor and one visit.
Every visit includes: water chemistry test (pH, free chlorine, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, temperature), chemical balancing as needed, filter inspection and cleaning or replacement, chiller and compressor health check, surface cleaning and biofilm prevention, pump and circulation inspection, and a detailed digital service report sent to you after we leave.
Yes. Initial setup, commissioning, and first-fill chemistry are handled by our team. If you've just purchased a plunge and need it set up correctly, we run a comprehensive initial setup visit that covers placement, electrical check, plumbing, first water fill and balance, chiller commissioning, and a complete owner walkthrough.
Pool techs are trained on chlorinated 80°F+ water in large-volume pools/spas. Cold plunges run at 38–55°F with concentrated bather load and chiller equipment that pool techs aren't certified to touch (refrigerant work is EPA-regulated). The chemistry is different, the equipment is different, and the failure modes are different. We do only this — cold plunges and saunas — that's why our reports, our parts inventory, and our diagnostic playbook all match the specifics instead of pool-spa generalities.
Yes — saltwater plunges (with salt-chlorine generators or natural-saltwater setups) require titanium or marine-grade heat exchanger inspection, more frequent gasket and seal checks, and different sanitizer-balance logic. We carry the right test kits and replacement parts for both setups, so brand doesn't matter — we calibrate the visit to your water chemistry, not just the model number.
