We're not a pool company that also touches plunges, and we're not an HVAC tech guessing at water chemistry — cold plunges and saunas are the only things we work on. Our core service area is New Bern and Eastern North Carolina — including Trent Woods, River Bend, Havelock and the Cherry Point area, Oriental and Pamlico County, the Crystal Coast (Morehead City, Beaufort, Atlantic Beach, Pine Knoll Shores, Emerald Isle), Swansboro, Jacksonville, Kinston, Greenville, and Washington. In our Eastern NC service area, standard pricing applies. Residential plans start at $169 every 4 weeks for our Essential plan (one full service visit per cycle). Premium is $299 every 4 weeks (biweekly visits plus quarterly deep clean). Weekly is $599 every 4 weeks for 52 visits per year ($150/visit effective) — the highest-density residential tier. Pay-as-you-go quarterly deep clean is $375 per visit if you handle weekly chemistry yourself, and a one-time deep clean is $399 flat for a single no-commitment service. Commercial plans (gyms, studios, hotels, spas) range from $279 every 4 weeks (Commercial Light) up to $999 every 4 weeks (Commercial Plus, twice-weekly visits). All recurring plans are month-to-month — cancel anytime. Outside Eastern NC, visits are quoted per job with travel included, and you approve the quote before anything is booked.

In our Eastern NC service area — New Bern, Havelock, the Crystal Coast, Jacksonville, Kinston, Greenville, Washington, and the towns in between — standard repair calls are scheduled within 48 hours of contact. Premium plan members get priority scheduling, and commercial accounts in the service area get priority emergency scheduling. Our service call is $170 flat — covers the trip out and a full diagnostic with a written estimate before any repair work begins. Repair labor is $185/hr with member discounts of 15–30%. Elsewhere in North Carolina — the Triangle, Wilmington, Charlotte, the Triad, Asheville, the Outer Banks — we service by scheduled appointment: request service and we'll send a quote with travel included and a proposed date before anything is booked.

Photos or a short video of the unit or the error code help us quote accurately and bring the right parts on the first trip.

Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, and Eastern NC sees its share of tropical storms and hurricanes. The biggest risks to a plunge are extended power outages, power surges when the grid comes back, wind, and flooding. Before a storm: follow your manufacturer's storm guidance, strap or weight the cover so it can't become a sail, bring lightweight items and accessories inside, and shut the unit down and unplug it if the manufacturer recommends it or flooding is possible — never run equipment that may sit in floodwater. A whole-home surge protector (installed by a licensed electrician) and a quality point-of-use surge protector where appropriate help protect chiller control boards. After a storm: don't restart until power is stable and the equipment is dry, check the chiller, pump, and electrical for water intrusion or debris, and test the GFCI. Water that sat without circulation or sanitizer for days usually needs a shock or a full drain and refill. We do post-storm inspections, restarts, and water rescues — call before you power it back on if anything looks wet or damaged.

It can. On the Crystal Coast — Morehead City, Beaufort, Atlantic Beach, Pine Knoll Shores, Emerald Isle — and anywhere close to the sound or the ocean, salt-laden air settles on a chiller's condenser coil and exposed metal. Over time that corrodes aluminum fins, fasteners, and electrical connections and cuts the chiller's ability to reject heat. Practical care: with the power off, gently rinse the condenser coil with fresh water on a regular schedule (low pressure, never a pressure washer), keep the unit off the ground and out of standing water, and check for corrosion on fittings, terminals, and stainless hardware. We inspect coils and connections on every visit and clean them as part of annual chiller service. How fast corrosion shows up varies a lot with distance from the water and exposure, so we judge it on your unit, not a rule of thumb.

Eastern North Carolina summers are long, hot, and humid, and that's when a chiller works hardest: warmer, wetter air means less heat rejection per cycle, so units run longer and some can't hold setpoint in a heat wave. The usual culprits are dirty or corroded condenser coils (spring pine pollen and summer debris clog them; salt air corrodes them near the coast), restricted airflow from a unit tucked against a wall, fence, or in a closed shed, direct afternoon sun on the chiller, and an undersized chiller for the tub and the load. We clean coils, check airflow and refrigerant-side performance, and recommend scheduling annual chiller service in spring — after pine pollen season, before the summer heat.

That's almost certainly pine pollen. In spring, pine pollen blankets much of North Carolina — a yellow film on the water, the cover, and everything outdoors. It loads filters fast, coats the waterline, and gets pulled into chiller condenser coils. During pollen season: keep the cover on whenever the plunge isn't in use, skim the surface, rinse or swap the filter more often than usual, and clear pollen off the chiller's intake. Plan members get extra filter attention through the season, and a spring deep clean resets everything once the pollen is done.

It depends a lot on where your water comes from. Many Eastern North Carolina towns draw groundwater from coastal-plain aquifers such as the Castle Hayne, and hardness, iron, and sulfur (the rotten-egg smell) vary widely from one town's system to the next — and even more on private wells, which are common outside town limits. Some systems treat or soften their water; many wells aren't treated at all. Homes with water softeners or filtration bring a different chemistry again. Cloudy water is almost always imbalanced chemistry (pH out of the 7.2–7.6 range, low sanitizer), minerals or iron where the supply carries them, or biofilm in the filter and plumbing. Brown or orange staining usually points to iron. We test your actual supply on the first visit rather than assuming a regional average, use a sequestrant or pre-filter protocol only where your water justifies it, and rescue most water without a full drain.

We service saunas across our Eastern NC service area, and statewide by scheduled appointment — infrared, traditional electric (heater + stones), wood-fired, and steam rooms — for homes, vacation rentals, gyms, athletic clubs, and recovery studios. We handle wood-safe deep cleaning, heater and emitter service, electrical and controls repair, and recurring hygiene maintenance. In a humid climate, ventilation and drying the room out between sessions matter for the wood, so we check both on every visit. All brands, including Sun Home, Clearlight, Sunlighten, Harvia, Finnleo, and custom-built rooms.

In our Eastern NC service area, our Sauna Tune-Up & Inspection is $149 flat — a wood-safe interior clean, heater/emitter inspection, electrical and controls check, and a digital report with photos. The Sauna Deep Clean & Wood Care is $249 flat — everything in the tune-up plus a full hygiene deep clean, sweat-stain treatment, paraffin bench treatment, and heater stone service. Sauna repair is a $170 service call (trip + first hour), then $185/hr. Commercial rooms and recurring hygiene plans are quoted per facility. Statewide visits outside Eastern NC are quoted with travel included.

Yes. Initial setup, commissioning, and first-fill chemistry are handled by our team. If you've just purchased a plunge, we run a comprehensive initial setup visit that covers placement (shade, airflow, and salt-air and storm exposure for outdoor units; ventilation and humidity for indoor ones), electrical check, plumbing, first water fill and balance, chiller commissioning, and a complete owner walkthrough. The same visit works as a restart for a plunge that's been drained after a storm or a long vacancy — refill, leak check, recommissioning, and rebalance.

Pool techs are trained on chlorinated 80°F+ water in large-volume pools/spas. Cold plunges run at 38–55°F year-round with concentrated bather load and chiller equipment that pool techs aren't certified to touch (refrigerant work is EPA-regulated). The chemistry, equipment, and failure modes are all different — from salt-air coil corrosion on the coast to overworked chillers in August to storm-related outages. We do only this — cold plunges and saunas — that's why our reports, parts inventory, and diagnostic playbook all match the specifics.

Yes. Saltwater plunges require titanium or marine-grade heat exchanger inspection, more frequent gasket and seal checks, and different sanitizer-balance logic. We carry the right test kits and replacement parts for both setups — brand doesn't matter, we calibrate the visit to your water chemistry and your supply's hardness and iron profile, whether that's a town system or a private well.
